Throughout these more than 21 years of my career, I've had the privilege of thousands of people trusting me and allowing me to fulfil this purpose, making a difference in their lives in the most diverse ways, some simpler, others well-complex restructurings.<\/p>\n
It was Teresa's case\u2026<\/p>\n

Teresa grew up in Angola in a humble family with 7 siblings. In those days, children weren't taught the importance of brushing their teeth, and her childhood memories are filled with constant dental problems, pain, infections, and tooth loss. When she moved to Portugal, she became a woman, and dentures (commonly known as \u201cplates\u201d) became a part of her life. These dentures contrasted sharply with her remaining teeth, which were darker and smaller from wear and tear, preventing her from chewing various foods and causing gum irritation.<\/p>\n
She had become a shy and withdrawn person. Her life was a grey affair, and her problem even affected her intimacy with her husband... She confided in me that her nearly grown-up children had never seen her smile. The shame she felt was indescribable...<\/p>\n
Teresa had already lost hope of ever having a beautiful smile and being able to eat whatever she pleased... And much less had it crossed her mind to go on TV and, with complete ease, show off her radiant smile and the intense sparkle in her eyes.<\/p>\n
The invitation was extended to me, to mark World Dentist Day, but she was the star! My heart was full watching her shine\u2026<\/p>\n
I always feel very emotional when I feel that, together with my team, we've managed to make a difference in someone's life. It's this emotion that drives us daily\u2026<\/p>\n
I wasn\u2019t able to help my Grandfather improve his Quality of Life through dental implants (that story is for another day), but every time I help someone in this way, I feel that he, wherever he may be, is winking at me in approval\u2026<\/p>\n
