My patients don't want to have implants, they want to have teeth again.

Putting in implants is easy, if I show you how it's done, even my 8-year-old son could do it.

Now, fitting an implant properly… in such a way that the teeth look like natural teeth… that the gum tissue doesn't look strange and remains healthy… and the implants don't have problems after a short time… is no longer for everyone.

Whether for a single implant or a full mouth rehabilitation with implants.

Why does no one ever come to me saying, “Doctor, for years my dream has been to get implants!”...

What people invariably tell me is:

“I dream of being able to smile without feeling ashamed and without having to cover my mouth…”

Or

“I haven't been able to chew properly and eat what I fancy for years...”

Or

“I was eating and the brace came out of my mouth and fell onto my plate, I didn't know where to hide...”

and still

“I've been feeling very down since my teeth got like this, I can't even look at myself in the mirror anymore or feel like getting dressed...”

Or even

“I'm terrified of having a health problem, being hospitalised and ending up in a hospital bed without teeth because my dentures were removed...”

Among many other things…

People want to have teeth again! That's what they truly want. To be able to smile with confidence again, to eat whatever they fancy without problems, to talk and socialise at ease without fear that others won't even hear what they're saying because they're preoccupied with noticing their teeth...

Implants are a means to an end... regaining a natural-looking dentition.

And preferably for the rest of your life…

Often people go for the cheapest option. I understand, after all, I sometimes go for a McDonald's myself... Not often... And that's absolutely fine.

Obviously, I know that if I want to “eat well”, with higher quality, or if it's a special occasion and not an everyday quick meal, I'll have to choose another option. Naturally more expensive, but when I leave satisfied and well-served, I don't begrudge the money.

It is the difference in cost between a “fast-food” concept and “signature cuisine”.

Putting implants anywhere, in any way, by someone who doesn't have much experience or doesn't really know what they're doing, increases the likelihood of things going wrong…

If the teeth don't look natural or cause problems after a short time, the objective has not been met.

And people often end up worse off than they were before the implants...

Unhappy, frustrated, with problems, no money, and also with less bone to be able to redo treatments properly.

Ever since I was little, I always heard my Grandmother say: “What's cheap ends up costing a lot!”

That's why I often tell my patients myself that if they don't have the money now to do things properly, it's better not to do anything at all. They'll end up spending money twice.

And I don't want my patients to waste money.

If you're going to invest, it should be in something very good, a durable solution to your problems, which gives you the maximum guarantees that you won't have problems in the short/medium term.

Do you agree with my way of thinking?

What would you prefer to have in your mouth, a cheeseburger or a filet mignon?
