Complete and accurate diagnosis
It makes it possible to identify dental and aesthetic problems with greater precision.
A diagnostic consultation, including treatment planning and a personalised quote, to thoroughly assess your case and determine the most appropriate course of action to restore your health, function, appearance and confidence in your smile, resolving your dental problems once and for all.
Just as one cannot construct a building without architectural and engineering plans that ensure safety, functionality and durability, one should not begin complex dental treatment without a proper assessment of the clinical situation and a clearly defined plan.
The Smile Advisor® Consultation stems precisely from this vision: to assess each case thoroughly, understand the patient’s actual needs and plan treatment in an integrated manner, taking into account the various specialities involved and aiming for a functional, aesthetic and long-lasting result.
The Smile Advisor® Consultation is a clinical, aesthetic and functional assessment protocol designed to provide a comprehensive analysis of each patient’s oral health, the harmony of their smile and their individual needs.
At the first consultation, the team at Dr Pedro Coelho’s Clinic assesses the current condition of the mouth, the position of the teeth, the health of the gums, facial proportions, the patient’s concerns and their expectations regarding treatment.
More than just an initial consultation, this protocol enables us to understand the case in greater detail and draw up a personalised treatment plan, which may involve areas such as implantology, oral rehabilitation, cosmetic dentistry, veneers or Invisalign.
During the Smile Advisor® consultation, clinical, radiographic and photographic data are collected to help understand the case in greater detail. This information enables the dentist to assess the patient comprehensively and draw up a safer, clearer and more predictable treatment plan.
Assessment of the general condition of the mouth, teeth, gums and bite, and clinical signs relevant to the diagnosis.
An X-ray image used to examine dental structures, roots, bone and any abnormalities that are not visible to the naked eye.
Clinical photographs of the smile, teeth, gums and face to support aesthetic, functional and facial analysis.
Review of medical history, lifestyle, medication and factors that may influence dental treatment.
Assessment of smile harmony, facial proportions, the position of the teeth and gums, and the relationship between aesthetics and function.
Understanding the patient’s symptoms, goals, concerns and expectations before drawing up any plan.
Integration of clinical, radiographic and photographic data to gain a more accurate understanding of the case.
Identification of the appropriate clinical options and provision of a detailed quote, tailored to the patient’s specific case.
Successful dental treatment depends on an accurate diagnosis and a well-structured treatment plan. Before discussing solutions, materials or costs, it is essential to understand what the patient actually needs.
In many cases, a patient seeks treatment for a specific problem, but the clinical assessment reveals associated needs that also influence the final outcome. It may be necessary to combine different specialisms, such as implantology, oral rehabilitation, cosmetic dentistry, orthodontics or gum treatment.
The Smile Advisor® consultation enables you to gain this comprehensive overview and devise a solution tailored to the health, function, aesthetics and durability of the treatment.
"The aim is not to apply stopgap measures. The aim is to plan a suitable, safe and well-thought-out long-term solution."
The Smile Advisor® Consultation is recommended for people who feel that something is not quite right with their oral health, but do not yet know exactly what the best solution is for them.
Patients often have missing teeth, damaged teeth, gum problems, difficulty chewing, general discomfort or dissatisfaction with the appearance of their smile. In such cases, before choosing a course of treatment, it is essential to carry out a thorough assessment, understand the root cause of the problems and draw up a personalised treatment plan.
This consultation is not a substitute for an ad hoc emergency appointment, routine oral hygiene appointment or paediatric dentistry appointment. Where necessary, following this initial consultation, a specific Smile Advisor® appointment may be booked for a full diagnosis and a personalised treatment plan.
The consultation follows a structured process designed to ensure that the patient understands their condition, is made aware of the recommended treatment options and receives a detailed quote.
The patient is welcomed by the clinic staff, who collect the information required to begin the assessment.
Intraoral and extraoral examinations and photographs are taken to support the clinical assessment and document the initial condition.
The doctor assesses the patient’s medical history, complaints, symptoms, wishes, expectations and concerns.
Clinical observations are cross-referenced with radiographic and photographic data to gain a more accurate understanding of the case.
Based on the diagnosis, a personalised treatment plan is drawn up, tailored to the patient’s needs and goals.
At the end of the consultation, the patient receives an itemised quote for the necessary treatments, which is usually valid for one month.
Following the Smile Advisor® consultation, the clinical, radiographic, photographic and aesthetic information gathered is analysed to draw up a treatment plan tailored to each patient’s specific needs.
This planning allows different clinical options to be assessed before treatment begins, taking into account factors such as oral health, function, aesthetics, the patient’s expectations and the predictability of the procedures.
Based on this assessment, the Dr Pedro Coelho Clinic presents a personalised treatment plan, which may involve various areas of dentistry, such as implantology, oral rehabilitation, cosmetic dentistry, veneers or Invisalign.
Good planning helps to improve the safety, predictability and clarity of treatment, helping the patient to better understand each stage before moving forward.
An elite diagnostic system designed to offer maximum predictability and excellence at every stage of your transformation.
It makes it possible to identify dental and aesthetic problems with greater precision.
Each treatment is studied before it is carried out, increasing the predictability of results.
The treatment plan is adapted to the needs and expectations of each patient.
We use digital tools and advanced tests to improve diagnosis.
The patient understands the whole process and participates in the treatment decision.
A dental quote should not be confused with a price list. A price list may provide indicative figures, but the actual quote always depends on the diagnosis, the complexity of the case and the treatments required.
At the Smile Advisor® consultation, the quote is drawn up based on the treatment plan. This means that the patient receives a detailed proposal, tailored to the clinical needs identified during the assessment.
This is a general guide to a particular treatment. It can help patients get an initial idea, but it does not determine the actual cost of their case.
It is drawn up following the clinical assessment and the treatment plan, taking into account the procedures that are actually necessary for that patient.
Some treatments require a more detailed assessment because they involve a range of clinical, functional, aesthetic and financial factors. This is the case with dental implants, oral rehabilitation, dental veneers and Invisalign.
In such cases, the treatment plan may involve several stages and different specialities. That is why the Smile Advisor® Consultation helps to prioritise treatment, explain the process and provide a quote that is in line with the recommended treatment.
To replace missing teeth and restore the stability, function and appearance of your smile.
For cases requiring comprehensive restoration of oral function, aesthetics and balance.
To improve the shape, proportion, colour and harmony of the smile through aesthetic planning.
To straighten your teeth discreetly, in a planned and personalised way.
Following the diagnosis, treatment plan and quote, payment options may be presented where applicable to the case.
For treatment plans involving higher costs or a longer duration, there may be the option of an in-house instalment plan or external financing, subject to assessment and approval.
Under certain plans, payment may be made in instalments directly to the clinic. This option is assessed on a case-by-case basis, depending on the cost, duration and schedule of the treatment.
In some cases, external financing may be available through a partner financial institution, subject to that institution’s assessment, approval and terms and conditions.
Payment options do not replace the diagnosis or the clinical quote. First, the treatment plan is drawn up; then the applicable payment options are assessed.
The Smile Advisor® consultation is usually carried out by Dr Pedro Coelho. In some cases, it may be carried out by another doctor from the team, always under his supervision.
This approach enables us to maintain an integrated clinical approach, in line with the practice’s philosophy and the high standards required for treatments that demand planning, precision and predictability.
